On Friday, we actually had one final ultrasound just to check on our little gal. At my last appointment they noticed that my fundal height had decreased and they wanted to make sure our little gal was growing as she should and that my amniotic fluid wasn't too low. The ultrasound showed that all was well and her predicted weight is 6 lb 11 oz (+ or - 1 lb!). They also confirmed for us that she is in fact a she. I think it's kind of funny - but we really didn't see much of our daughter. She's so big now it makes it really hard to make out anything. The sonographer tried to show us her face - but she is so low in my pelvis, it was really hard to get a picture of her. The sonographer did her best and we have a couple picks of her fact below to share!
Then that night Jon and I went to 20/21 for dinner to celebrate our 3 year anniversary - which was on Sept. 3rd. Dinner was great and it isn't lost on us that we should enjoy the ease of going out together in these last few weeks before the arrival of our daughter.
Then on Saturday I headed down to Mankato to my very good friend's home for a very small baby shower. It was really an excuse to see and catch up with my 4 best high school girlfriends. It was great seeing all of them and to catch up with what's going on in their lives. We had lunch, opened gifts and just gabbed! Then I headed back up to the Cities where Jon and I went to meet another group of friends for dinner at Chino Latino. A couple of our friends, who now live in San Francisco, were in town over the weekend - so it was nice to see them, as well as a few other friends - once again, just packing in the social activities before it gets more difficult to do them!
On Sunday Jon and I headed out to run errands and basically buy anything that we still felt we needed, which really was very little. But somehow it still took all day! After putting everything away and doing some more reorganizing - we settled in and just ate leftovers and watched a movie - how relaxing.
And finally today - I gave in to my nesting instinct. Though we me, it's hard to tell if I'm nesting or if I'm just being my normal, crazy, super clean self. Not only is almost the entire house clean, but it is super clean. Like moving the furniture, rolling up the rugs and cleaning every inch of the floor clean! I feel that I could now serve dinner off of my wood floors! Jon was very nice and indulged me and did all the chores that I handed out to him today - so our outside looks very nice as well!
And tomorrow is Tuesday and back to work. Neither one of us are looking forward to going back to work. I'm still working full time and plan on doing so until the day I go into labor. In fact I'm working two 12 hour shifts and working 16 hours on Friday, crazy, I know! We are secretly hoping I go into labor tonight so we can just be done with work and finally meet our little girl.
Here are some pictures from our weekend and our ultrasound. Hopefully the next pictures I'll be sharing will be of our little bundle of joy!
My 4 bestest High School Gals - thanks for the gifts and the advice!
